Partridge Cottages - Kersey

  • The picture-perfect village of Kersey in Suffolk has been home for many of the Rural Community Housing family for nearly 40 years, and so it was vital to us that this site should represent the company ethos entirely. The village has undergone many changes during that time and many amenities have been lost. Our hope is that by supporting all local residents and businesses who wish to see the community thrive we will collectively be able to help breathe new life back into the village.

Having worked closely with local councils and residents since 2015 and adapting proposals and designs to suit, we are now proudly in the early stages of construction of seven units. Careful consideration has been given to the design in order to fit comfortably with the current village aesthetic, and the highest possible build standards are being employed to ensure quality and sustainability.

  • Known around the world as one of the most picturesque villages in the UK, featured in the Doomsday Book and overflowing with rural charm, Kersey is a truly sought after location and Rural Community Housing believe that it should be affordable for all. A strong multi-generational community exists in the local area, supporting the village primary school, church and pub.

Often visited to marvel at the medieval timber-framed houses or the ford (better-known as “The Splash”), the village has also been a popular filming location historically used in Lovejoy and more recently home to The Magpie Murders.

A short drive from the market town of Hadleigh, and surrounded by some of the most beautiful villages in Suffolk, Kersey truly is a jewel in the crown of East Anglia.
